WABI-SABI: how to get rid of perfectionism trap

Hello! friends my name is Abhishek and welcome to study edit.

Friends, a word is used in the world of psychology. Perfectionism. Now maximum of us want to do something in our life and want to become successful. And for this we work very hard. And during this process we get trapped in perfectionism. The word perfection comes from perfectionism. If your thinking is such that your work should be absolutely perfect and absolutely ORIGINAL, only then you will get recognition, then it is possible that you are also trapped in the trap of perfectionism. Because perfectionism is simply a myth. And in today's articles we are going to discuss what is perfectionism and how right and wrong it is for us. And what can be its implications in the long term.

Friends, perfectionism is a personality trait when we start being too harsh with ourselves, we start having too many unrealistic expectations for ourselves.

We start chasing perfection in every work. We feel that our work should be absolutely perfect only then we will get recognition. And because of this thinking, there is a huge gap between our expectation and reality.

And when our expectations are not fulfilled then we start criticizing ourselves, and because of this our confidence starts to wane and we start feeling insecure.

It has been seen in today's young generation that they become so obsessed with their perfection that they set unrealistic standards for themselves. And spoil your whole life.

Friends, the problem is that there is no end to perfection and no clear-cut definition. Perfection is a never-ending process. Today's youngsters unnecessarily create pressure on themselves in order to show themselves perfect. Because of which they have to face mental health conditions like anxiety and depression.

Today, be it male or female, everyone needs a perfect body. For this they go to the gym, they also get surgeries done to look glamorous. Because of which they also have to face serious health conditions many times.

Especially, social media has implanted this idea in us that we cannot accept ourselves until we become perfect.

But friends, life is not so simple and perfect. Because every creation of nature is imperfect.

Friends, the basic idea is that we have to remember that none of us is perfect, all of us are damaged in one way or the other.

This is the story of Sen no Rikyu. Who was a Zen Buddhist monk. And he was born in 15th century Japan. Sen no Rikyu once broke his favourite bowl which he had brought from China. They send that broken bowl back to China to get it repaired. When that bowl came back after being repaired from China, Rikyu was very surprised. He saw that from where the bowl was broken, the artisan had put very dirty metal staples there. Because of which the beauty of that bowl was gone.

Rikyu gave a challenge to the artisans around you that how they can make that bowl more beautiful.

The artisans pasted the pieces of those bowls with such glue on which golden powder was applied. And because of that golden powder, the bowl started looking even more beautiful.

And from there came the idea of Wabi-Sabi to Sen no Rikyu.

Friends Sen no Rikyu says that we should not throw away the cups, bowls, and pots that break. They say that we should give more respect to these pieces and pay more attention to them. We should repair them and with care. We should join those broken pieces with such glue which looks golden. And because of that he started looking more beautiful than before.

Friends, like this bowl, we also sometimes feel broken in our life. This concept of Wabi-Sabi is trying to tell us that the things we

The things which we consider broken in our life, how can they become your strength.

Instead of hiding our shortcomings and flaws, we should highlight them more.

Look friends! We all have faced many problems in our past. And we don't know how many times we have faced failures in our life. Many times, such a time comes in our life when we feel completely broken. And Wabi-Sabi tells us that great beauty lies in broken things. Because every old wound is telling us some story or the other. This Wabi-Sabi concept also teaches us how we can accept flaws and accidents and we can make them more beautiful than before. We should see our failures in such a way that it is telling us something. You are trying to teach us something. Friends, the beginning of your transformation starts only when you accept your flaws and weakness.

Now this does not mean that we should give up that friend, I am damaged, and I cannot change anything inside me. The basic idea is that you have to change how you see yourself. Instead of seeing your idea self as a perfect bowl, you should see it like a bowl of Wabi-Sabi. You should accept that yes there are many cracks in it, and it has been broken many times, but the same cracks use makes the thing more beautiful.

You have to ask yourself whether the perfection you are running after is helping you in your growth or is it harming you.

Just like a broken pot has many cracks, similarly there are cracks in our life and our plans.

Friends, if I sum up this article, then we come to know that we should completely remove the idea of perfection from our mind. No plan or any life can be completely perfect. Now there is no harm in trying towards perfection. Because our talent comes out from this. But our thinking should never be such that when I achieve this, I will become perfect. Our thinking should be like Wabi-Sabi where each crack tells something about your life and all things together make your life more beautiful.

Friends, I hope you liked the articles. And follow us to our channel to discuss such amazing topics. Thank you very much.
